Aerobic Activity

The term “aerobic” is relating to or denoting exercise that improves or is intended to improve the efficiency of the body’s cardiovascular system in absorbing and transporting oxygen.. Aerobic activity is a type of exercise involving the use of vast muscle groups, is sustained for long periods, and is rhythmic. As your heart becomes stronger and more efficient, regular aerobic activity enhances your fitness. As a result, each beating allows the heart to pump more blood (and thus increase the oxygen supply to the tissues). As your aerobic fitness improves, you’ll be able to work out for longer periods at a higher intensity and recover faster at the end of each session. The term “high impact” or “low impact” is frequently used to describe an aerobic activity. High-impact aerobic activity involves activities that lift both feet off the ground, generating more jarring of the joints as the body weight returns to the ground. Walking is an example of Low Impact, but jogging or bouncing up and down is an example of High Impact.

It’s crucial to begin with a modest intensity and gradually increase it over the next few weeks as the activity becomes simpler. For example, 20 minutes of walking, jogging, or a combination of walking and jogging may be enough to leave you breathless and tired at the start of your program. But as the weeks pass, you may need to pick up the pace or introduce jogging up some shallow hills to achieve a greater increase in fitness. Remind yourself that a strong heart functions better. Because the heart is a muscle, it can be strengthened by regular aerobic or physical activity.

The difference between aerobic and anaerobic activity

Aerobic activities work the arm and leg muscles while also providing a continual workout for the heart (and lungs). Anaerobic exercises strengthen and tone muscles, but they are not as good for the heart and lungs as aerobic exercises.

Traditional sports are among the best types of aerobic activity. If you get together with friends twice a week and play basketball, that may be enough to keep you fit and healthy. The most important thing is to engage in some form of aerobic activity that you enjoy enough to continue doing. Before beginning a vigorous aerobic fitness program, some persons should visit their doctor. My best recommendation is to join a gym for a month. This will allow you to test out a variety of aerobic activities to see which ones you enjoy.
